Ferdinandas Square

It is in an earlier Vitte suburb, where a seaport was built in the 18th-19th c., with seamen and port workers living nearby. During the Soviet period, the port expanded and some quarters were demolished. The pavement of the square shows the plan and the names of former Vitte  streets and buildings. Remnants of a bomb shelter from World War II are still visible here. Funnel marks of warious Klaipeda Shipping companies from the interwar period can be seen  on the tubular bells that stand here.
