In 15-16th centuries Bachmann‘s land was a large complex of holdings to the east of Klaipėda at Danė river. Later small manors began to settle here. In 1523 coastal steward and interpreter from the local languages Benedict Dach received Bachmann‘s manor according to Kulm rights. This person by many researches is considered as a grandfather of a poet Simon Dach, originated from Klaipėda. After the Seven Years War colonel Wilhelm Gerhard von Koschkull became an owner of this estate. In 1778 he built a new Bachmann‘s mansion. His widow was married yet twice, but left no inheritors and bequeathed the entire property to the Poor Boys Education Institution. In 1798 King confirmed the will of the widow, inserting the provision that the state government must maintain the institution‘s activity. Sheltered housing was opened in 1847 and operated until the third decade of the 20th century. About 1930-1931 years in the north of the old manor centre, near the new road to Klaipėda there was built a two-storied brick psychiatric hospital. In 1889 at the old building (Jaunystės street 12) there was built an obelisk to Sofija Ursula fon Goes that all her property sacrificed to shelter. (Klaipėdos dvarai. Klaipėda: Libra Memelensis, 2005, p. 26- 31).
