The memorial plaque with a bas-relief in memory of Bronislovas Lubys, was opened on the building at J. Zauerveino Street 18 on 26 October 2012. Bronislovas Lubys was a prominent person that has left a deep trace in the city’s life.
Born on 8 October 1938 in Plungė, he was a businessman, industrialist, signatory of the Act of March 11, Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania, a long-time president of the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists, a patron, as well as an honorary citizen of Jonava district and Plungė city. B. Lubys died unexpectedly on 23 October 2011 in Druskininkai.
The memorial plaque says that B. Lubys was a signatory of the Act of the Independence, doctor of technical sciences and board chairman of Achema group. This group also includes Klaipėda Stevedoring Company (KLASCO), which is currently located in the building on J. Zauerveino Street 18.
