In 1901, having demolished a single floor residential house that was built in the second half of the 18th century, an Art Nouveau style house was built on 7 Liepų st. This house belonged to a merchant and consul of Denmark and Portugal in Klaipėda, Schmaeling. The main façade of the building was decorated with models and sculptures. After World War II, a second floor was built. The building was nationalised after the war. In 1954, it was turned into the Klaipėda Regional Studies Museum, but in 1990, it was restructured into the History Museum of Lithuania Minor. In 2014, the Klaipėda City Municipality Administration moved in.
The building at 7 Liepų st. was built in the 1930s. The building is rectangular and symmetrical in its composition. It is three floors high and has a garret and a pitched roof. The street side of the building has two bay windows. The house is included in the Register of Cultural Objects.
