Monument to Stalin in Danė Square

A monument to Stalin stood in the very centre of the city – in Danė Square, behind a massive commemorative plaque. Danė Square was built in 1951. During the same year, a pedestal with a statue of Stalin on it were introduced to the square. Between 1956 and 1958, all imagery of Stalin was being removed and the aforementioned monument was no exception.
