The Commemorative Bas-Relief Plaque, Dedicated to Alfonsas Žalys

A commemorative plaque, located on the wall of the building at 13 M. Mažvydo alleyway, was unveiled on December 29th, 2009. It is dedicated to Alfonsas Žalys, who was one of the signatories of the Act of the Re-Establishment of the State of Lithuania and who was granted honorary citizenship by the city of Klaipėda. He was also an authority with years of service to the city under his belt. Žalys lived in this building for a long time. The commemorative plaque was created by sculptor Algirdas Bosas – one of the few artists, who were lured to Klaipėda by Žalys.
